NASW Ohio Chapter- The Tech Savvy Social Worker

NASW Ohio Chapter offers a six-hour CEU and certification program titled The Tech Savvy Social Worker: Ethical, Legal, and Smart Use of Technology. The goal of the training is to provide social workers and related professionals with information on how to use technology in a legal and ethical manner.

Training Agenda

 

9:00am-11:00am: Legal and Ethical Issues in Technology- Presentation by Glenn Karr, JD- Glenn is currently engaged in the private practice of law. In his past four decades of law practice he has advised on regulatory insurance law, health care law, corporate, business, non-profit, and employment discrimination issues. He serves as General Counsel for numerous health care practices throughout the State of Ohio and regularly represents licensed health professionals before their licensing boards.


11:00am-12:00pm: Ethical Issues in Technology and Supervision (Part 1): Presentation by Danielle Smith, MSW, MA, LSW- Danielle Smith is the Executive Director of the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers. She has worked for NASW for ten years and has been responsible for the Chapter's government relations, communications, membership development, and management. Prior to working at NASW she worked in the Ohio Senate. Danielle earned her Bachelor of Science of Social Work, Master of Social Work, and Master of Arts in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University.

3:00pm-4:00pm: Overview of best-practice systems and applications- Presentation by Jay Karr- Marketing technologist with a strong background and focus on technology strategy, digital strategy, project management, user experience, digital advertising, integrated marketing communications
