Meet the Committee Chair!

Jorie Schwartz, MSW, LISW-S

I’ve been a social worker in Columbus and proud NASW member since 1997. I’m an Assistant Professor in the Social and Human Services program at Columbus State Community College and a Community Instructor at the Ohio State University College of Social Work. I’m also a proud mom of two children in Columbus City Schools and volunteer as a PTO Board member. I have huge shoes to fill as Neisha leaves this position, but I am thrilled to be involved in working with emerging social workers and getting the word out to them about the benefits of joining NASW!

As volunteer Committee Chair from 2018-2020, Jorie’s goals are to better connect associate degree students to the social work profession and develop a larger pool of rural and racially diverse applicants for BSW programs. She will engage the 25+ community colleges and branch campuses, organize quarterly conference calls for faculty liaisons, support the development of pre-social work student organizations, and highlight associate degree student and faculty achievements in this newsletter.
