It is necessary for NASW and social workers to center conversation around our country's legitimate pain and traumatic experiences right now following the recent deaths of Black people, at the hands of police and white supremacist vigilantes. Deaths that are unfortunately not at all out of the ordinary. At NASW we unequivocally believe that our Code of Ethics lines up with the sentiment and meaning of Black Lives Matter.

Join us for this urgent conversation surrounding how social workers can fight to ensure that Black Lives Matter. We will discuss the importance of #BlackLivesMatter in the framework of our Code of Ethics, how social workers can take direct action (such as joining protests), how to initiate conversations about what is happening with clients, and future action steps.
