Polyvagal Theory in Mental Health Practice

Location: Heatherdowns Branch Library- 3265 Glanzman Rd. Toledo, OH 43614. It will be in room A. 

 

The fundamental premise of the Polyvagal Theory is that human beings need safety. Through understanding polyvagal theory, participants will gain an understanding of the biological process of dysregulation and how to help clients move to a more regulated state. Reasons why understanding this theory is important to those in mental health practice and along with key terminology will be discussed in this training.

Objectives:

1. Participants will learn 3-4 key terms related to polyvagal theory.
2. Participants will learn 2-3 reasons why polyvagal theory is important to mental health practice.
3. Participants will discuss 2-3 ways to help clients move out a dysregulated stated.
