This training will provide an overview of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria for determining the level of care needed for clients involved in addiction treatment. The training will include discussion on the development and background of the tool, key terms, the 6 dimensions, questions for consideration, and ways in which to integrate the ASAM into current treatment practices. Those attending should leave with a general knowledge of the ASAM, the 6 dimensions, and how to complete the ASAM tool. Attendees should have the tools needed to begin to develop implementation of the ASAM in their everyday treatment practices.
