Elevate Social Work

Earn 18 CEUs in three days and connect with more than 500 social workers and 50 exhibitors.

As the leader of the social work profession, NASW Ohio Chapter invites social workers to attend our annual conference to discuss the future of practice. This year’s conference will provide social workers with the tools to strengthen their skills in communicating and working effectively with clients, colleagues, other professionals, and policy makers.

 

Cost includes breakfast, boxed lunch, refreshments, and 12 CEUs.

The cost of the Tech Savvy or Navigating Silences: Social Worker Discourses Around Race and Racism add-on programs are $100 for members, $140 for non-members and includes breakfast and six CEUs. This cost is in addition to the above costs for the conference on Thursday and Friday.

Social Workers as Leaders

Presented by Anton Gunn, MSW, CDM, CSP, best-selling author, speaker and consultant on Thursday, November 14

Anton Gunn is a former senior advisor to President Barack Obama and the world’s leading authority on Socially Conscious Leadership. He has a master’s degree in social work from the University of South Carolina and was a Resident Fellow at Harvard University. He is the bestselling author of The Presidential Principles and has been featured in TIME magazine, Inc. magazine, the Wall St Journal, BBC News, NPR and on Good Morning America. As an international speaker and consultant, he has worked with organizations like Microsoft, Sodexo, KPMG, Verizon Wireless, Aetna, American College of Surgeons, FINRA, and the Boeing Company. From playing SEC football and being the first African American in history elected to the South Carolina legislature from his district early in his career, to now working as a C-level executive for an academic health system and serving on multiple boards, he has spent his life helping people build diverse, high-performing teams and world-class leadership culture.

Immigrants Welcome: responding locally to global crises

Recent years have brought more attention to immigration as a national, humanitarian issue. While the focus often turns to the southern border, social workers can make an impact here in Ohio. Attendees will leave this discussion with new ideas to provide culturally responsive social work services to immigrants in Ohio.
