About this Webinar: Body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) are a group of kindred conditions located in DSM-5's Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders and include trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder) and excoriation disorder (compulsive skin picking). Frequently dismissed as “bad habits”, BFRBs are complex biobehavioral psychiatric disorders estimated to affect up to 5% of the general population. Frequently kept hidden from clinicians, they are steeped in shame and can be seriously impairing in all areas of life. This webinar will provide comprehensive assessment and diagnostic information, including the ways these disorders impact our clients’ daily functioning and well-being. Guidelines for effective treatment will also be addressed.
