Join us for this timely training with Commissioner LaToya Logan on how social workers can become involved as effective advocates for community policing in Cleveland. Then, we will devote one hour to ourselves with a Self-Care for Advocates training given by NASW-OH Practice Associate Colleen Dempsey. Join us for one training, or both for a total of 3 CEUs!

Presenter Bios:

LaToya Logan has over 10 years of experience providing supervision, training and program evaluation. LaToya is a seasoned clinician, specializing in trauma, criminal justice, and crisis management. She has conducted training for community mental health agencies, mental health boards, as well as, human service conferences.  LaToya services as the co-Chair for the Cleveland Community Police Commission and the Region 3 Director for the NASW- Ohio Chapter. LaToya is a licensed independent social worker - supervisor (LISW-S) and a certified clinical trauma professional. She is the owner of Logan Clinical Consultations, LLC and founder/Executive Director of Project LIFT, a non-profit providing supportive housing to transitional age youth. LaToya earned degrees from Michigan State University and Case Western Reserve University. 

Colleen Dempsey is a licensed independent social worker based in Columbus, Ohio.  She works for the Ohio Chapter of NASW as the Practice Associate. Colleen continues to practice in mental health with kids and families at PBJ Connections Inc. in Columbus. Bringing her experience in direct practice social work, Colleen is passionate about the connection between macro and micro practice, and loves encouraging social workers in all areas to get involved in bold advocacy efforts.  Colleen is involved in multiple racial and social justice advocacy groups outside of her work at NASW.
