Two-Day Professional Training Program (18 CEUs)

Presented by the National Association of Social Workers - Ohio Chapter, Ohio Psychological Association, and Telebehavioral Health Institute.

Attendees will enjoy an invigorating two-day training that provides an in-depth look at the theoretical bases for telebehavioral health, and prepares licensed professionals to become certified by the Coalition for Technology in Behavioral Sciences as a telebehavioral health provider.

Designed with engaging teaching methods, this program outlines best practice issues, including how to legally practice over state lines; informed consent; intakes and assessment; privacy and confidentiality; record keeping; mandated reporting; federal laws, including HIPAA and HITECH Act, as well as state-based privacy, confidentiality and security laws. Topics also include diversity; safety protocols; preventing and handling emergencies; referrals; triage; and assigning apps. Reimbursement and technology choices for video, email, text messaging and telephones will be covered. Legal and ethical online marketing through social media and online practice management will also be covered in detail. Ample opportunity will be created for attendees to ask questions. Over 1,000 peer-reviewed books and journal article references will be available.

Get Certified: For no additional fees, you will be eligible for a three-year "TBHI Telebehavioral Health Practitioner" certification at the end of the training through the Telebehavioral Health Institute. You will need to pass a competency exam (open book, 50 questions) and submit proof of licensure. After that you will be given access to your certificate, sent badges to put on your website, and link to the database, which will identify you as being Certified through the Telebehavioral Health Institute. After three years, re-certification will be available after showing proof of having obtained a six-unit course to update your skills with knowledge of newer technologies and payment of a $125 fee.
